Exceptional Day Nursery Walsoken, Wisbech

Our first nursery was established in 2010 after 2 years of building and preparation we opened in June of that year. Since then, we have grown and developed not only the environment within but as a team and the way we focus on providing care to the children within the local and surrounding areas.

At our Walsoken setting we are able to offer childcare for children aged 0-11 years. We have dedicated play spaces for the different ages and needs of the children who attend and caring qualified staff onsite to assist supervise assist and support the children with their learning and development.

We follow an approach known as in the moment planning which allows the children to learn through play and guide us, this means that rather than being bogged down in paperwork we can focus on the children and use teachable moments to support them as and when needed throughout their play. We also follow an approach known as the curiosity approach which links with in the moment planning and is all about loose parts and imagination. we have minimal plastic toys within the setting instead we have a variety of objects and materials for the children to use and explore, this allows the children to create whatever they desire and means that anything they produce is all their own doing with some adult support and teaching where required.

Childcare Team

Staff within the room plan activities around the interests of the children and have 2 or 3 differing options each week available for them to take part in. A free choice of games and resources are available for everyone to select throughout the rooms in their area, including reading books, role play, construction equipment and arts and crafts. The area is split into 3 small rooms with a wide variety of resources and equipment to choose, children also have access to the outdoor space and are supervised by the staff to ensure their safety. They are also able to access the woodland garden area with staff.

Founder & Owner
Founder and Managing Director of Krazy Dayz Nursery. Kate has 18 years experience in early years child care provision. Kate is very hands on and leads by example. Her husband Brian is also very involved with the setting and can usually be found helping to create new areas and spaces for the children to enjoy.

Tammy

Deputy Manager
Tammy is our Deputy Manager with 9 years in experience in early years child care. Tammy is a level 3 nursery practitioner.

Krazy dayz Walpole is a very caring and happy nursery setting. The staff are excellent & have the best caring nature for all the children. It’s a lovely nursery setting where the children have lots of outdoors space & lots of activities to keep them learning all the time. The nursery is always so supportive & my child's needs were always met. This nursery will always hold a special place for us & how much they have helped my son’s life.

This is the best nursery I have come across ever!! The staff that are employed are all so lovely and are clearly vetted really well by the owner Kate. My daughter cried leaving here and still talks about wanting to visit the staff. I loved knowing my daughter was in safe hands and she was always given loads to do. She would come home with having had a full day of fun. The staff were always thinking of ways to entertain them. Wonderful team!

Cannot recommend Krazy Dayz enough. My little boy started at 11 months after changing provider. They made the transition smooth and reassuring. He continued to thrive in the hands of the practitioners there. Oak Tree Farm setting is a beautiful setting. Kate, Tammy and all the Oak Tree ladies are skilled and knowledgeable in their field. Our little boy was supported, had his imagination enhanced and his building blocks for school firmly set. Thank you Krazy Dayz.

Krazy Dayz are amazing. They provide the safe and nurturing environment that enabled my children to thrive and flourish. They have also been a safe haven for myself and my children when we have faced hardship within our lives. The staff always go the extra mile to keep the children entertained and happy. The manager- Kate could not have been more accommodating and supportive of my child care needs as and when they have changed over the years. I would thoroughly recommend Krazydayz to anyone in need of exceptional, quality childcare.

Krazydayz is an absolutely fantastic setting for preschool and after school club children. My son has attended the setting for the last 7 years and thoroughly enjoys every minute with the dedicated members of staff and other children.

Quality Day Nursery Care Walsoken, Wisbech

At Walsoken we are so lucky to have 2 large garden areas, and both are very different. Our main play area has access from all rooms which allows us to free flow where possible. There are so many different areas to explore. The gardens have something for everyone, and we make use of the space in all weathers which is why it is important that the children have suitable clothing for the day ahead. There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing! We are happy to store wellies at the setting for messy play and have a limited amount of outdoor wear available.

In the main garden we have an undercover canopy where the children can explore mark making and messy play, another small canopy area has a seating area to look at books or just sit and relax. We also have a veggie patch where we have grown numerous potatoes, tomatoes, sweetcorn, and lettuce to name a few! A stage is available or our performers, a pirate ship for the imaginative, along with a construction site, work bench area, sand pit with its very own outdoor Kitchen and tree house with slide! There is a whole lot more too, but it can change dependant on the children and their interests, so we like to go with the flow sometimes and see where we end up on our adventures.

The second garden is our woodland garden, here is a more natural space, where the children can build dens, go on a bug hunt, make mud pies in the mud kitchen, or climb the ladder to the castle slide or tyre wall. We love to use this space to encourage forest school ethos, toasting marshmallows or warming hot chocolate on cooler days over the fire pit is always a welcome treat! We have recently acquired some extra space for this garden so will be working on that over the coming months to create a larger space for the children to explore and take part in even more forest school activities.
