Our oak tree setting is a beautiful nursery within the villages of Walpole st Andrew/st peter set on a small holding with chickens, sheep and the occasional visit from Rosie the horse.
Oak tree Day nursery is dedicated to the care and development of all children who attend, staff work closely with the children to challenge and create new experiences for them to enjoy and take part in. We focus on the children as individuals and follow the format of in the moment planning which enables us to guide and support where needed much like when the children are at home. We pride ourselves on making sure that the children in our care feel confident and comfortable within our setting, just like they would at home.
Its so important that they feel loved and respected for the tiny people that they are and that they have a sense of belonging, we want to ensure that all children who attend the setting are able to reach their full potential and embark on their next stages of learning and development without feeling pressured or even realising that they are indeed learning, but that they feel supported enough to take those steps and face the challenges to scaffold on what they already know building and developing every step of the way.
Throughout the activities that the children take part in we ensure we focus on the process rather than the end product, its all about giving children experiences, some which they may be lucky enough to have at home, but also ones that we can introduce and create excitement by giving them opportunities they may not have experienced before, supporting guiding and sharing their joy in whatever the product at the end may be.
We aim to promote independence and skills for life, encouraging the children to have a go and helping them to recognise their achievements to feel proud, allowing them to progress at their own pace and recognise them as the individuals that they are. By providing authentic resources for the children to use and explore, along with rituals of the day to support future life skills as well as invitations to play and learn we hope to create the thinkers and doers of the future, sparking awe and wonder within the minds of a child. If only we could go back and see the world through their eyes so much to learn, so many questions to ask and so much fun to be had! This is about being able to be a child, to learn through play, to build upon friendships, a desire to learn and know more and to explore the world which is all around us, how magical and wonderful it must be to embark on such a journey of curiosity and adventure

We love all the Krazy Dayz team and the opportunities they provide to the children. Our dedicated and experienced pracationers will help you feel at ease, knowing your child is in safe hands.
We try to follow the children’s individual routines as much a possible and work with parents/carers throughout their time at the setting. Children are assigned a key person who will observe your child and track their development using the Early years Statutory framework.
Staff at the setting hold relevant qualifications and undergo regular training to upskill their knowledge and remain up to date with any changes within early years, all staff have first aid training as well as being trained in food hygiene, safeguarding and planning for the children’s needs to name a few.
Founder & Owner
Founder and Managing Director of Krazy Dayz Nursery. Kate has 18 years experience in early years child care provision. Kate is very hands on and leads by example. Her husband Brian is also very involved with the setting and can usually be found helping to create new areas and spaces for the children to enjoy.
Inside the nursery building we have large play rooms which are flooded by natural daylight through our windows which catch the sun beautifully. All rooms lead out into the garden area to allow children to access the space freely. A large variety of resources are available for the children to explore and expand within their development. Our under 2’s have their own dedicated spaces both inside and out, again boasting large areas to explore and enjoy. We are always looking for new ideas, repurposing resources and equipment to reduce waste and ensure that we take into account the differing interests and needs of each child who attends.
The setting has an amazing outdoor space for children to enjoy the fresh air and adventures that await. Onsite we have chickens, and sheep, as well as many animals that live in the surrounding fields such as rabbits, geese, pheasants and deers which can often be seen throughout the hedgerow.
